Privacy & contact preferences
When you submit an inquiry, we store your name, email address, optional phone number, requested dates, guest count, reason for visiting, add-on request and message. We use these details to respond and manage your request. When owner notifications are enabled, our mail provider receives your name, email, requested dates and guest count to notify stay@nortoncompound.com; your full message and optional phone remain in the private dashboard.
If you choose to receive marketing emails, we also save your preference, the wording you agreed to and the date. Marketing is optional and is not required to inquire or book. We do not automatically identify visitors who simply browse the website.
Contact records are kept in a private database accessible to authorized management. We do not sell your contact information. If we use an email service to send opted-in updates, we will provide the details needed to deliver those messages.
To unsubscribe, correct your details or request deletion, email stay@nortoncompound.com. We retain your information until it is no longer needed for inquiries, guest service or the updates you requested; we may retain a minimal record of an unsubscribe request to honor it.
Campaign QR codes and campaign links record the time the link was opened and which campaign it belongs to. A first-party cookie remembers the current campaign landing for up to 30 minutes so an inquiry or sign-up during that visit can be attributed to that campaign. Entering the plain homepage clears campaign attribution. Each new QR/link redirect is a separate open; attributed pageviews are not additional scans. Labeled quality-assurance visits are excluded from traffic counts. Historical records are not relabeled. We do not store your IP address or device fingerprint in this tracking database. We skip this attribution when your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. Scans and link opens do not identify you unless you later submit your contact details.
Website analytics record pages and sections viewed, visit times, referral website hostname, device category, browser, operating system, language, viewport width and approximate country, region or city when our hosting provider supplies them. A first-party anonymous session cookie expires after 30 minutes without activity. Campaign attribution may also appear in visit reports. We do not store IP addresses, full referral URLs, device fingerprints or email addresses in these visit records. We honor Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control for this analytics collection. Reports are restricted to authorized management.
Host-issued test payment links use Stripe hosted test checkout. Stripe receives the quote amount and dates for that test. The inquiry email is not prefilled; use a fictitious email and test details in the sandbox. The website stores the test quote and payment status, not card or bank details. Test payment does not create a real reservation; live payments remain disabled.
Completed direct-booking stays may receive one review request the day after checkout when the owner has verified contact eligibility and sending is configured. We store the guest email, actual checkout date, a private stay identifier, contact-permission confirmation and invitation status. Airbnb reviews are handled separately inside Airbnb. We do not use review requests to subscribe guests to marketing.
When a guest submits feedback through a private invitation, we store the rating, written review, optional display name and exact public-display permission with its timestamp. Feedback is private by default. Only explicitly permitted, owner-approved review text, rating and chosen display name may appear publicly. Email and booking details are never part of public reviews. Use the private link to stop review requests and withdraw publication permission, or email stay@nortoncompound.com after the link expires. Review links expire after 30 days. Owners retain feedback and minimal preference records only while needed for guest service or consented publication; request correction or deletion by email.
